Celebrate Local Artisans at the Meet the Makers of the LivCo Libation Loop Event

Home Posted on October 24, 2024

GENESEO, N.Y., Oct. 24, 2024 — Raise a glass to local craftsmanship and celebrate Livingston County’s growing wine, beer, liquor and cider scene during the “Meet the Makers of the LivCo Libation Loop” event coming to Camp Stella Maris on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 1 – 5 p.m.

The event will bring together brewers, cidermakers, vintners, and distillers from the county’s 12 craft alcoholic beverage producers that make up the LivCo Libation Loop. Attendees will meet the beverage makers in person, receive tastings from each, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the passion and creativity that goes into making each glass of their favorite adult beverage, said Livingston County Tourism Director Kelly Burns, one of the event’s organizers.

“We created this special event to showcase the best of our region’s craft beverage producers,” she explained. “It’s a chance to not just enjoy incredible drinks, but to celebrate these artisans’ hard work and learn a little more about each stop on our Libation Loop. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting these folks and experiencing the rich flavors of Livingston County.”

Woodlawn Distilling, the county’s only distillery, will be on-hand to share their process along with samples of whiskey, moonshine, vodka, and gin with those in attendance. The Linwood-based family operation proudly sources much of the raw materials for its spirits directly from their family’s farm.

“As the first distillery in Livingston County since at least prohibition, we are excited to bring a variety of spirits to the area,” said Woodlawn Distilling Co-Owner Jaclyn Morgan. “As a New York farm distillery, we are required to source 75% of our grains for our liquors from New York State. We took it one step further and are growing as much of our grains as we can. Farming first, we currently grow about 90% of our grains and are hoping to get to 100% self-grown in the next few years.”

Jeff Riedl, owner and head brewer of Rising Storm Brewing Company in Livonia, will be serving glasses of his brewery’s craft beer in several different styles during the event. Attendees can look forward to a diverse selection, featuring everything from hoppy IPAs to rich stouts, all crafted within the county.

“Livingston County provided us the opportunity to make our dream a reality, and we're excited to celebrate the success of the Livingston County Libation Loop,” he said.

Tickets are available in several options, including general admission, VIP early access, and designated drivers. Prices range from $10 for designated drivers to $95 for VIP couple admission.
